É muito comum encontrar canções, de qualquer gênero musical, recheadas de estereótipos. Tais estereótipos reafirmam crenças compartilhadas acerca de atributos, comportamentos e personalidade de determinados gêneros, raças, nacionalidades, além de afirmar diferenças entre pessoas de diversas regiões do país. Por ser a esteriotipização um processo de simplificação cognitiva, a amplitude e diversidade de vários locais do páis acabam por ser reduzidas a certos fatos, que não necessariamente representam o que as pessoas que vivem naquele local são, acreditam ou fazem em seus cotidianos.
A seguir, temos claros exemplos desta estereotipização:
Tom Jobim e Vinicius de Moraes imortalizaram, principalmente no exterior, o estereótipo da mulher brasileira. Uma mulher que demostra sua sensualidade em tudo o que faz, que possui um jeito de andar marcante, chieo de luz e graça. Esse samba fez com que a Garota de Ipanema virasse uma palavra mágica para os estrangeiros.
